Product Overview

Choose the Pipe by Service Environment

ERW pipe is formed from steel strip and joined by electric-resistance welding. Black ERW pipe is widely used for fabrication and protected systems, while hot-dip galvanizing adds a zinc coating for improved corrosion protection in exposed or humid environments.

FCB STEEL checks the intended use, applicable standard, pipe schedule or wall thickness, coating requirement and end connection before quotation. Pressure service and structural use require different technical confirmation.

How to Describe the Pipe You Need

Use OD × wall thickness × length

For a clear inquiry, identify the pipe in a format such as OD 76.2 × 3.0 mm × 6 m, then state the surface and end condition.

  • OD / DN: outside diameter or nominal pipe size
  • t / Schedule: nominal wall thickness
  • L: required fixed or standard length
  • Finish: black, oiled or hot-dip galvanized
  • Ends: plain, beveled, threaded, grooved or coupled

Do not rely on DN alone when wall thickness, pressure class or connection detail is critical.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before Requesting a Quotation

What information is required for an accurate quote?

Send product type, intended use, standard, grade, OD or DN, wall thickness or schedule, length, quantity, surface, end type and destination port.

What is the difference between black ERW and galvanized pipe?

Black ERW pipe has no zinc coating and is normally protected according to its installation environment. Hot-dip galvanized pipe receives a zinc coating for improved corrosion protection. Suitability still depends on the service medium and project code.

Can threaded, grooved or beveled ends be supplied?

These options can be reviewed against diameter, wall thickness, standard, fitting system and quantity. The accepted end preparation is stated in the quotation.

Can you supply fixed lengths other than 6 metres?

Yes, subject to production, packing and container-loading review. State every required length and tolerance in the inquiry.

Can a specific zinc coating be requested?

Yes. State the required coating mass or thickness and test method. Coating compliance is only confirmed after technical and commercial review.

Can third-party inspection be arranged?

Yes. SGS, Bureau Veritas, TUV or another agreed inspection company can be arranged at the buyer’s request, with scope and cost confirmed before order.

Do you publish a fixed steel price?

No. Steel and ocean-freight costs change frequently. We prepare a current FOB, CFR or CIF offer after confirming specification, quantity, destination port, delivery period and quotation validity.
