Material and Finish Matched to the Process Environment
Stainless welded and seamless pipes serve different pressure, temperature, cleanliness and fabrication requirements. Matching fittings must also be confirmed for grade, schedule, connection type and dimensional standard.
FCB STEEL reviews the fluid, operating conditions, corrosion exposure and fabrication method before quotation. Grade designation alone is not enough for sanitary, pressure or high-purity service.
Supply Specification Guide
The ranges below come from current company materials. Schedule, wall thickness, surface grade, ends, pressure rating and final availability are controlled by the confirmed quotation.
| Welded pipe | 201 / 304 / 316 / 316L · ASTM A312 · DN12–DN400 · 6 m catalog reference |
|---|---|
| Seamless pipe | 201 / 304 / 316 / 316L · ASTM A312 / A213 · DN12–DN400 · 6 m catalog reference |
| Fittings | Flanges, elbows, reducers and caps · ASTM A182 / A403 · exact type and dimensions by order |
| Wall thickness | State the required schedule or nominal wall thickness; tolerance is confirmed against the applicable standard |
| Surface | Mill, pickled, polished, brushed or bright-annealed options subject to product and order review |
| Ends / connection | Plain, beveled, welded, threaded, flanged or sanitary connection as specified and confirmed |
| Testing | Visual and dimensional checks; PMI, pressure, NDT or surface checks where required and agreed |
| Quotation unit | Metric ton or piece depending on product type, dimensions and quantity |

Use the full material designation
A useful inquiry format is ASTM A312 TP316L, DN100, Sch 10S, 6 m, followed by finish, ends and quantity. For fittings, add type, angle, radius, pressure class and connection.
- Grade: 201, 304, 316, 316L or specified equivalent
- Dimensions: OD/DN, schedule or wall thickness
- Finish: mill, pickled, polished or specified surface
- Connection: butt weld, socket weld, threaded, flanged or sanitary
Material suitability and system design remain the responsibility of the project engineer.

Before Requesting a Quotation
What information is required for an accurate quote?
Send product type, grade, standard, OD or DN, schedule or wall thickness, length, quantity, surface, ends, service conditions and destination port.
What is the difference between welded and seamless pipe?
The manufacturing route affects availability, dimensions, performance requirements and cost. Selection should follow the applicable piping specification and engineering design.
Can a polished or sanitary finish be supplied?
Yes, subject to product and order review. State internal and external finish, grit or roughness requirement, cleaning, end caps and packaging.
Can matching fittings and flanges be included?
Yes. Provide type, grade, schedule, dimensional standard, pressure class, radius, connection and quantity for every fitting.
Can PMI or third-party inspection be arranged?
Yes. PMI and inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, TUV or another agreed company can be arranged with scope and cost confirmed before order.
Do you publish a fixed stainless steel price?
No. Price depends on grade, dimensions, finish, quantity, alloy market and freight. We prepare a current FOB, CFR or CIF offer after technical confirmation.
